Why Learn to Play Musical Instruments

Because we wanted our kids to be exposed to musical instruments early on, hubby bought an acoustic guitar  a few years back. It is not Furman but it plays well and still shines as good as new. We don’t really have much musical sessions at hone since I don’t know how to play the piano or the guitar but I am glad that the kids are somewhat interested to learn about musical instruments.

Here are some of the reasons why we wanted the kids to learn how to play musical instruments:

1. It helps make one’s memory more sharp and alert.

2. It teaches discipline. You need time to practice and be diligent to achieve your goal

3. Playing music can relieve stress and calm the mind.

4. Brings a sense of achievement and fulfillment.

Hopefully, we will be able to learn how to play the piano or the guitar together soon. I believe that can further enhance their God given talents and be a blessing to others as well!

  1. Check on all four, Mommy Chris! It has been scientifically proven that music lessons have an impact on cognitive, language, and math skills! I’m also a firm believer of the power of music so I looked for a music and movement program for my eldest. She started with Kindermusik at 10 months, and my second child at 4 months! I can go on and on about the benefits that they got from the program (early language, sense of balance, good rhythm etc etc etc), but the sheer enjoyment that they derive from music is such a joy to behold, even the sound of somebody tapping his fingers on the table can set them off to some swaying fun 😀
