Be Versatile

Being a homeschool mom, one needs to be versatile. Versatile means being able to adapt to the needs of the current situation. We all have our preferences and inclinations, but if you want to be a good homeschooling mom, you need to adapt.

Here are some tips I have learned over the past 3 years of homeschooling:

It is not easy but we need to pay close attention to the uniqueness of each child. Take note of their abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

Think outside of your own preference and put yourself in the shoes of each child, see what could possibly be hindering your child to do his or her best.

Think of ways to inspire and to develop perseverance in each child.

Build relationships with your children and don’t treat them as “something that I need to do”.

Be willing to change.

Be humble to know when things are not working and apologize when needed.

I love your tips! It also works for stay at home moms like me who tutor their child after school.
