Tuttle Publishing’s A Geek in China Review

Tuttle Publishing’s A Geek in China is written by Matthew Christensen for all of us who wants to know China a little bit more. As someone who has Chinese blood, I would like to know more about China. I have been studying China from the history books and I’ve been to China once – but that isn’t enough for me to know about its culture and life.┬áSo, I was pretty excited to look through this book to get a glance of what modern China has to offer!

There are 6 chapters in the glossy magazine type book. Chapter 1 – China Past and Present, Chapter 2 – Chinese Culture and Food, Chapter 3 – Chinese Character and Society, Chapter 4 – The Face of Urban China, Chapter 5- The Chinese at Play , Chapter 6 – Visiting China.

China is one of the world’s oldest nations and has a very rich culture.

As I read through the different pages of this magazine, I can’t help but be amazed how this country has transformed through the years and how much of their traditions are still preserved today. Food, family culture, history and urban china are some of my favorite topics!

It is true that this book only gives us a glimpse of life in China- but it is a worthy resource guide, especially for those who want to experience China and understand its culture.

This book contains over 300 color photos and 144 pages which comes in paperback format. The pages are glossy and looks like a magazine. More information can be found here: http://www.tuttlepublishing.com/books-by-country/a-geek-in-china-paperback-with-flaps
