Pureplay Sports 3-in-1 Summer Camp

Now that summer is here, we enrolled my son in a 3-in-1 summer sports camp here in Nuvali. The sports training camp started today. The 3-in-1 camp will be having 16 sessions ( 5 sessions on basic football, 5 sessions of basic baseball, 5 sessions on basic ultimate disc).

It was my son’s first time to join in a summer training and I am very happy to see that he was enjoying himself and seem very confident on the field. I am truly grateful that Pureplay and Nuvali decided to open such a camp which would help little kids get a taste of 3 different sports. It allows them to develop the basic sport discipline and hone special skills at the same time. It also serves as an exposure and educational camp for the kids before they decide which sports they would really like to pursue in the future. I am just really glad that they decided to hold a summer camp here at Nuvali, Sta Rosa. We have been looking for one here for quite some time already.

If you still haven’t found a summer sports camp for your kids, try to check their schedules at the different venues. They are still accepting enrollees and will just pro rate the camp fees.  For more info, please call 892-1768 or check out their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002443648551

Kiddo-preneur Summer Bazaar 2012

If you want your kids to learn to become an entrepreneur during their summer break, Kiddo-preneur might just be the event you are looking for! Kiddo-preneur’s mission is to teach kids how to: earn, save, invest and donate to charity. This is a bazaar for kids, by kids. Kids ages 4-16 can get a booth and start their own business. Kiddo-preneur will be on April 14, 2012, 11am-6pm at The Tents @ Ayala Southgate Mall!

This will be sort of a practicum for all that our kids have learned in school. The kids will learn how to become more entrepreneurial and learn the ropes of financial planning. This is actually the 2nd Kiddo-preneur bazaar already since the first one was held last December and the event was truly successful.

If your kids don’t want to join yet, it would be a good idea to visit the bazaar on April 14 to let them see and experience first hand a bazaar for kids, by kids.

For more information, check out Kiddo-preneur’s FB page.

Last Saturday, we were invited to Krispy Kreme’s store opening here in the South of the metro – just in time for its 75th birthday!  The store is located at The Street, at Alabang Town Center’s new wing.

A big milestone for this store is that it is the first store with the Baked Creations Theater in Metro Manila. As a store with the “Baked Creations Theater,” Krispy Kreme will be able to serve the brand’s signature Baked Creations fresh from the oven, everyday. In addition, it will also dish up its full line of premium treats including its world-famous Original Glazed Doughnuts and Signature Coffee. It is also the first store to debut with the Krispy Kreme’s 75th birthday look!

The kids  were pretty excited to decorate their donut and Krispy Kreme gave them a wonderful opportunity to do just that!

The whole family enjoyed our Krispy Kreme field trip day! If you are in Alabang Town Center, drop by Krispy Kreme. It opens its doors everyday at 7 in the morning and stays open until 11 in the evening.

Snuza Mobile Baby Movement Monitors

My daughter is already 8 years old but I can still remember the very first weeks and months we had her. I would often check on her every hour that I wook up just to make sure she is still breathing. I have read about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and I was paranoid about it! SIDS is the unexpected death of an infant younger than 12 months during sleep with no known cause. It can occur any time between the ages of 2 weeks and 12 months, and occurs most frequently between the ages of 2 and 4 months.

So when I was invited to the Snuza mom bloggers meet, I really wanted to see what this product was all about and inform my readers about this product which can save every mom and dad from sleepless and worried nights! Snuza Mobile Baby Movement/Breathing Monitors provide solutions for parents and babies at home or on the go. The movement monitors use ultra-sensitive movement-detection technology detects every single tiny movement your baby makes and alerts you if all the movement stops.

Snuza Go! @P4,989.00                      Snuza Halo @ P6,189.00

There are two types of Snuza Mobile Baby Movement monitors.

The Snuza Halo’s features are:

  • Detects even the slightest movement
  • Alerts you if baby’s movements are very weak or fall to less than 8 movements per minute.
  • If no movement at all is detected for a period of 15 seconds, Halo will vibrate gently.
  • If no further movement is detected for another 5 seconds, an alarm will sound to alert you.

The Snuza Go!’s features are:

  • Provides the same mobility and ease-of-use as Halo but does not incorporate the rousing vibration function.
  • Alerts you if baby’s movements are very weak or fall to less than 8 movements per minute.
  • If no movement at all is detected for a period of 20 seconds, an audible alarm will be emitted to alert you.
  • The 20-second period can be reduced to 15 or 18 seconds if preferred.

It is fairly easy to use Snuza Mobile Baby Movement Monitors as all you have to do is clip the device unto the baby’s diaper.

Purchasing any Snuza Mobile Baby Movement Monitor comes with a 24 month limited guarantee with a proof of purchase. Batteries are replaceable but are guaranteed to last at least 12 months. This product is made by Biosentronics, world-renowned for development and manufacturing of bio-sensory electronic innovations, and the Snuza is one of their best ideas yet! Snuza is designed and  manufactured in Capetown, South Africa. Now, this product is exclusively distributed by Momhattan Corporation here in the Philippines. Momhattan is born out of two moms’ overly active maternal instinct to protect their babies. They have discovered and are  living proofs of how much peace of mind Snuza can give moms.

mommy moments

Last Saturday, my ever supportive sister drove me and the kids to Mommy Mundo’s Expo Kid at the Rockwell Tent. I was excited since it will be my first time to attend Expo Kid.

We were excited to see the Fun Ranch inflatable slide greeting us at the entrance. We immediately proceeded to the registration area and got our map and lots of brochures and leaflets! Inside we were greeted by lots of people shopping around the different stalls. We were able to buy some unscented lotion for my sensitive skin and some toothbrushes for the kids! As we were going around the different stall, the kids got their tattoo for free!

We also saw many booths selling different items for the baby and the mommies. I didn’t see any titanium bracelet but I saw lots of fashion wear for mommy at Mommy Matters. There were also great items at Caleb’s Closet. I also saw some interesting handmade dolls by a mom!

My daughter also loved the Mad Science booth where they had some science fun stuff!

My son did well in Brain Fit’s balance challenge and it is quite interesting to learn that there are centers that specialize on the brain and how it works to help us achieve the best we can be :)

We also saw the HAPI (Homeschoolers Association of the Philippine Islands) booth. There were several people when we got there so we only checked out the portfolio samples on the tables and we were excited to know that HAPI is taking a more active approach in educating the people about homeschooling.

We also got to watch a ballet performance and saw several more interesting booths! Before heading out, we were also given free Mommy Pages. Of course, I also have with me several free parenting magazines and Urban Mom Magazine.

Congratulations to Mommy Mundo for a successful Expo Kid again this year!
