If you are interested to homeschool your children or want to know how homeschooling works or are currently homeschooling your child, you are invited to attend the Philippines Homeschool Conference 2015 brought to you by  Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands, Manila Workshops and The Learning Basket.


Philippine Homeschool Conference 2015 : Ready for the World is happening on October 17, 2015 8am-5pm at Samsung Hall, Meeting Rooms 4-6 at SM Aura, SMX Convention Center in Taguig City.

The main speakers are homeschool advocates and international speakers from the US: Michael Donnelly, Director for Global Outreach HSLDA and GHEC 2016; and Rachael Carman, best-selling author, publisher-Apologia Series, and mother of 7 kids.


There will be breakout sessions to choose from with the following topics:

  • Give Me One Good Reason to Homeschool by Davis Carman (Rachael Carman’s husband)
  • Homeschool 101 with Tina Rodriguez

  • Getting Homeschoolers Ready for the World through Independent Homeschooling with Ched Arzadon
  • Stretching Your P100 (because it’s important to be money-wise to be able to homeschool thriftily but effectively) by Chinkee Tan,

  • Parenting Basics: Getting Your Children To Listen and Learn by Edric and Joy Mendoza

Aside from the inspiring talks, there will be an exhibit area of various learning providers, educational tools, toys and books for all the homeschool families! This area will be open to the public for a minimal amount of 50 pesos per head.

For children who would come along with their parents, they can choose from different learning activities for a fee of 500 pesos each. They can choose to learn about Cross Stitching, Mandala, String Art and Dream Catcher from DMC and Basic Calligraphy.

Basic Acrylic Painting Workshop

Ever since the start of our summer break this may, my daughter has been painting with Acrylic paints. I am pretty impressed by what she has been creating to think that she never had any formal workshops before.

The Art of Storytelling Workshop

If you have little children at home or you are a teacher by profession or as a volunteer, you might want to attend Manila Workshop and GPG Bulilit Bookstore ‘s The Art of Storytelling Workshop. Happening on May 29 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Spaces by Babyland along Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong City.


The workshop is interactive and will discuss the the principles and techniques of storytelling, performance skills, improvisation and interactive skills, verbal and non-verbal communication, and analyzing stories to maximize impact on our young listeners. The facilitator of this workshop is none other than Luisito Pascua aka Kuya Bodjie of Batibot, a popular Filipino Children’s show.
