When we talk to our children, let us make the conscious effort to look them eye to eye. It will help us to speak more softly to them and it builds a connection between the kids and us. It helps us communicate more effectively with them too.
This is a re-post… I think this is a timely reminder for all of us moms today!
The children needs to hear it from us. We need to be vocal about certain things especially how much we love them. If our kids would know that we are proud of them and that we love them, it can help boost their confidence as they grow up and they would grow up knowing how to express themselves too. They would grow up secure and won’t have to go around looking for “love” from other people.
This is such a wonderful reminder to us moms. Most of the time, especially when we have little kids, we tend to focus on the things we need to get done, or we are reprimanding them. This reminds me to talk with my kids while they are still young and to listen to what they have to say. Starting young, this may help us nurture an open communication with our kids.
Another thing is that we have to be thankful for every little thing. The Bible has instructed us to be constantly in an attitude of thankfulness. What better way to teach this to our kids than to practice this with them.
Any special tips?
