Another Friday has arrived. This is our 2nd Friday where we share tips with our fellow moms and this week, we are sharing Earth friendly tips.
During our Social Studies and Science subjects, we often talk about natural resources. We include conservation measures during discussion and how we can help the Earth. This type of discussion has helped my kids to learn that:
– Not to waste water.
– Turn off the lights when not in use.
– Not to throw garbage at streets or at bodies of water.
– Not to cut down trees indiscriminately.
– Plant more trees.
– Reduce, reuse and recycle materials.
Aside from discussions, exposure trips are also important. Just last week, we were able to visit Nuvali. We saw an exhibit about our natural resources and how to reduce, reuse and recycle.
We also do many projects at home using recycled materials. Here are some of their creations!
( materials: stick-o plastic cans and cover, art paper)
(materials : tissue roll, fuzzy wire, googly eyes, art paper)
( materials: box, paint)
I believe that if you are able to teach your kids while they are young how to help the Earth, they will grow up conscious about the environment and how they use the natural resources God has given them. In their own little ways, they can help and conserve.
Reading stories about the environment also helps!
