Now that I have reached mid-life, I often wonder what changes will happen to my body and how will I adjust to them. When I was in high school, I remember the physical changes my body had to go through was tremendous and sometimes, unnerving. As I am older, I think it would be wise if I can start reading on these upcoming changes and be prepared.
One of the most common change that happens to a woman is the appearance of wrinkles over the skin. Wrinkles happen on areas where there is more sun exposure and obviously, the skin on the face is usually the most affected part. It is often associated with aging.
For most moms, we often wonder how can we prevent the wrinkles from overtaking our skin? There is really not much prevention aside from minimizing sun exposure and not to smoke. The sunscreens can help skin from being damaged but according to studies, there really is no safe “levels” on sun exposure.
If you already have wrinkles, the possible treatment would include Vitamin A in the form of Retin A, skin moisturizers and cosmetic procedures. The procedures can include: Botox, laser procedures and heat and radio frequency techniques. Botox is one of the more familiar procedures done as it involves an injection and works for at least 3-4 months. It can relieve the constant muscle contractions which produces frowns and forehead lines. Through the years, the anti-wrinkle injections have been proven to be safe and effective.
