Kyla’s Philippine Dance Cup Experience

My daughter started taking ballet classes two years ago. This year, the teacher told us that as a class, they were going to join the Philippine Dance Cup. It was held last October 20 at Meralco Theater.

Hubby and I allowed our daughter to participate because we have seen how she has grown in this area of performing arts and she really does love dancing ballet. No matter how hard the routine gets, she diligently does her best every rehearsal. More than the recognition or the trophies and awards, we wanted her to experience what it was like to be in a competition. Learning the discipline and being committed to a goal, which is to dance at the best of their abilities for the Lord, were the major lessons we wanted her to learn.

True enough. We were proud of their performance that day. They enjoyed their dance performance and did very well. Although it was not enough to let them bring home the major awards, it was enough to make them become better dancers.

¬†They danced to the song It’s A Hard Knock Life from Annie.

At the end of the competitions, we didn’t expect that they would win any awards. But we were all very surprised that they brought home the Best Team Spirit award! It was truly a moment worth celebrating.

  1. Congratulations to your daughter! I think we will see each other on Monday right?

  2. Wow congrats to Kyla! It’s great that she participated in this dance competition… wish my girl will be up for the challenge when an opportunity presents itself. We can’t convince the boy to push further with his current sport though.

  3. Congrats Kyla! I’m seeing the future ballerina of the Philippines:) God bless you always!

  4. Congrats Kyla dear. Parang kailan lang marce she’s a big girl now and a budding ballerina. How old is she na nga?
