Earlier this week, we were blessed to attend the GCF Pastors and Wives Retreat for 2013. It was held at CCT Tagaytay. It was really cold and windy but overall, it was a refreshing trip. The kids came with us and they had a wonderful time playing and enjoying the cool weather. We declared a 3 day break from our usual homeschool activities. Every body, including teacher mom, really took the time off and just enjoyed the break.
It was very encouraging to meet up with fellow pastors and their wives. Knowing that you are alongside fellow servants, and being able to pray for one another was great. We also had several sessions where we learned and were inspired to continue on living for the Lord. Our speaker was a pastor from Covenant Evangelical Free Church in Singapore. He and his wife shared their testimonies and how the Lord has worked in their lives through the years. It was also a good reminder that our spouses are God’s gift to us. We prayed together, prayed for one another and even recited our wedding vows.
I look forward to this annual retreat. It is encouraging, refreshing and much needed. I am truly grateful and thankful to the Lord for retreats.
