Moving Tips

Since getting married 12 years ago, we have moved thrice already. In the process of these moves, we have lost some items due to misplacement and some got broken during transit. Thankfully, the items we lost were not important items. Here are some of the lessons I have learned when it comes to moving:

– Hire the best company who can help you in the actual  day of the move. Here in the Philippines, it is important that you look for a reliable and trust worthy company. Companies with over 15 years of experience in residential moving with good reviews should be considered. Just like ADT Moving and Storage who are experts and professionals in  montreal moving. They provide services from planning, packing and even some installation. They also have insurance and handle all the necessary permits.

– Before packing, give away items which hold no value for your family and haven’t been used in the last 6 months. This would ensure that you are only bringing items of value to your new place. This can also reduce cost as you don’t have to pack the unnecessary items.

– Categorize the items before boxing them  to ensure that the sensitive items don’t get broken. Label the boxes so that movers would know which boxes are vulnerable and where the boxes would go once they arrive at their destination.

– Bubble wrap expensive items. If you want to save, you can use clothes to wrap these items too.

These are just some of the lessons I have personally learned through the years. If you have any additional tips, I’d like to hear it too. Do leave a comment!

  1. Thanks for the share! It is also important when researching moving companies

to check and see if they have movers insurance. I myself have always chosen Arpin so I have never had a problem but I have heard horror stories of people using other companies and finding their belongings all broken. Don’t make that mistake, do your research!
